Crawl in Bed With KC Wells #mmromance #pridepromotions

Crawling Into Bed With K.C. Wells
And a Good Book

Important things first, are these sheets silk or cotton?
Oh, DEFINITELY silk.

What are you wearing?
Chanel – Coco Mademoiselle ;)

What are we snacking on in bed while we read tonight?
Godiva truffles

If I open this nightstand drawer, what will I find?
A bottle of orgasm enhancing gel, a rechargeable bullet vibrator and a large dildo J

Do you roll up in the blankets like a burrito, or kick the covers off during the night?
The covers never stay on.

Can I put my cold feet on your calves to warm them up?
Er…. Okay, go for it.

What are we reading?
We’re reading Love Lessons Learned.
Evan turned to his husband. “You know I love you, right?” Daniel lifted his eyebrows. “Well?” Daniel nodded. “And you trust me.” It wasn’t a question.
Daniel stilled. “Yes, I trust you.” His eyes narrowed. “Ev?”
Evan took a deep breath. “Then I want you to ignore anything you see or hear for the next part of the evening.”
“Why?” There was an edge to Daniel’s voice that John hadn’t heard before.
Evan took hold of Daniel’s hands. “Because I’m about to lie my arse off, okay?” He fixed Daniel with an intense look. Daniel regarded him in silence for a moment and then nodded once. Evan sagged in his chair. “Thank you, sweetie.” He leaned forward and kissed Daniel on the cheek. He met John’s gaze. “This goes for you too. Don’t believe anything you see or hear, all right? I’ll explain later.” He got to his feet and walked toward the bar.
John bit his lip. I have a bad feeling about this.

Some of the tables had been cleared away to reveal the highly polished wooden dance floor. Couples were already moving slowly together around the floor. Brett stopped as he caught sight of Josh and Chris dancing together, their heads touching. They look so beautiful. The thought made his heart ache. It wasn’t their physical beauty that caught his eye—it was the sight of two men in each other’s arms, oblivious to the rest of the world. Their fellow dancers paid them no mind, which was refreshing.
“They look good together, don’t they?”
Brett turned to Evan, who was standing beside him, his gaze fixed on Josh and Chris. “Yes, they do,” he admitted.
He was surprised when Evan stroked a finger casually down his arm. He jerked his head back. Evan regarded him calmly, those piercing blue eyes so reminiscent of John’s.
“It’s okay,” Evan said softly. “They can’t see us.” He trailed a finger up over Brett’s bicep. “You obviously take care of yourself.” Brett couldn’t miss the almost purring note of approval.
He found his voice at last. “You’re a married man.” And a very attractive one.
“This is true.” Evan locked eyes with him. “But we have an arrangement, Daniel and I.”
Brett’s heartbeat quickened. “Arrangement?”
Evan nodded. He moved his hand under Brett’s dinner jacket and caressed his arse. Brett caught his breath.
“We have a very open marriage. He plays, I play….” That hand squeezed him gently. “And now and again, we invite someone else to play with us.” Evan smiled invitingly.
Brett swallowed. Oh, fuck…. It wasn’t that he was immune to Evan’s charms—if anything, his cock was like steel—and it certainly wouldn’t be the first time he’d taken part in a threesome, not by a long shot. But it felt wrong.
“I… I’m going to have to decline, flattering though the offer is.” He took a step back, and Evan slowly withdrew his hand. He cocked his head to one side.
“Well, I can’t say I’m not puzzled by your reaction.” Evan glanced downward to his crotch. “Because that doesn’t lie.” Brett’s breathing grew more rapid. Suddenly, Evan’s eyes lit up. “But maybe the wrong brother is doing the asking.” He winked. “Is that it, sir?”
Brett forgot how to breathe altogether for a moment or two. Fuck…. And then Evan’s words sank in. The wrong brother? John?
And then Evan’s whole manner changed. Gone was the flirtatious, sexy man who’d just felt him up. Evan regarded him with a gentle smile.
“It’s okay, Brett. You can breathe now.”
Brett stared at him. Slowly, his brain started to function again. “You… you….” He struggled to find the words. Realization dawned. “You and Daniel don’t have an open relationship, do you?”
Evan shook his head. “He’s my whole life.”
Brett couldn’t get his mind off Evan’s question. “John…. Is John gay?”
Evan’s smile increased in intensity. “That’s something you’ll have to ask him.” He leaned closer and whispered. “But I think you already know the answer, don’t you?” He straightened. “You might want to take a moment before you join us at the table. I think you need to calm down first.” He gave Brett an apologetic look. “I’m sorry. I probably shouldn’t have done that, but I couldn’t help myself—I had to know.” And with that, he walked off toward their table.
Brett stared after him, his thoughts still in disarray. Two things were burned into his brain. He’d just outed himself—and the man who had captured his interest was gay. Possibly.
Hopefully?

Crawl in Bed With Kenneth Carver of If Wishes Were Horses #pridepromotions #mmromance

Crawling Into Bed With Kenneth Carver (one of the heroes from If Wishes Were Horses)
And a Good Book

*arranges pillows* Important things first, are these sheets silk or cotton?
The finest cotton sheets money can buy. Silk is too slippery.

*quirks brow* Too slippery for what? Don't answer that! What are you wearing?
Not a damn thing.

*mutters* I really should make it clear that these interviews are not clothing optional. What are we snacking on in bed while we read tonight?
Melt in your mouth sugar cookies and spicy roasted nuts. Don’t tell Renata though. She’s the best cook ever but she doesn’t approve of eating in bed.

My lips are sealed. If I open this nightstand drawer, what will I find?
Lube, condoms, my e-reader, and… No, Andy would kill me if I mentioned the rest.

*chuckles* Well, for the sake of your life, we'll disregard the… *coughs* Do you roll up in the blankets like a burrito, or kick the covers off during the night?
Kick off the covers. The only thing I want pressed against me is my lover’s skin.

I think I just melted a little. Could you be any more romantic? Can I put my cold feet on your calves to warm them up?
You could, but I might shoot ya.

And that cures that! What are we reading?

If Wishes Were Horses by Silvia Violet
Kenneth Carver had everything growing up except warmth and acceptance. When protecting his family’s name became more than he could bear, he came out as gay, sold his company, and bought a horse ranch.

Andrew Wofford's last undercover assignment nearly cost him his sanity. Now he has another chance of catching the drug runner who killed one of his informants and then escaped, but gruesome flashbacks threaten his ability to function in the field.

Andy’s latest investigation sends him to Ken’s ranch where he poses as a ranch hand. Ken is a prime suspect, but Andy refuses to believe Ken is guilty, in part because Andy is falling for him. Ken knows Andy isn’t who he seems, but he can’t bring himself to push the man away. When Ken hears rumors that someone is using his land to move drugs out of the city, he worries that it’s Andy. Neither man can trust the other even though that’s exactly what their hearts tell them to do.

Excerpt:
He slammed the door of the truck the department had given for him for the assignment, and a rusted-out patch caved in. Fuck, the truck had been seized from some asshole they’d locked up, and it was so old and beaten up Andy had doubted it would get him to the ranch. He hoped to hell there were ranch-owned vehicles he could drive, or he’d likely find himself walking wherever he needed to go.
The front door of the traditionally styled ranch house was solid dark wood. Andy knocked and waited. A few seconds later, Mr. Carver opened it himself. Andy had been expecting a maid not Kenneth Carver himself live and in person wearing an expensive white button-down, worn jeans that probably had a designer label over his fine ass, and cowboy boots with actual dust on them. He was more rugged than he looked on TV, his face angled and craggy. His hands looked like he’d he was due for a manicure appointment, but that would only make them sexier wrapped around Andy’s dick. His smirk and those knowing eyes though, they were just as Andy had expected. The man was a walking fantasy.
“Andy Watson?”
Andrew almost forgot and said his real name instead, but just in time, he caught himself. “Yeah, that’s me. I’m here about a job.”
“Do come in.” Carver bowed slightly and swept his hand out to indicate that Andy should enter.
Fuck, was the man flirting with him? Andy’s dick said it liked that a whole lot, but his other head knew that could lead to serious trouble. Despite what Gomez thought he might do and no matter what answers he would get from fucking Ken, getting that close would compromise him. The last thing he needed was flashbacks in bed.
But oh my holy God, Carver was even sexier in person than he’d been when the media had spent day and night detailing the events of his coming out. The man moved like he knew he could have whatever he wanted, and wow, that ass. His jeans fit it perfectly, and Andy wanted to reach out and test its firmness. Carver was dangerous, like a jungle cat, ready to leap down from the trees and devour him. All Andy’s senses told him this man was shrewder than anyone gave him credit for and far more in his element on a ranch than Andy had thought he’d be. There was little or none of the ridiculous city playboy in him. That must have been an act for the cameras. This man played for keeps which meant Andy was in a fuckload of trouble.
He followed Carver into his office. The heavy oak desk spoke of power and the wall of glass with French doors said he enjoyed looking at the land he’d made his own. Carver sat in his leather swivel chair, and Andy stood, facing him down, pissed as hell that he was so fucking nervous. He was no rookie. Sure the last time he’d been undercover he’d lost big. A good man had ended up dead, and he’d been left so screwed up he might not actually be fit for police work anymore, but he’d gone back in anyway, and he’d done it, putting assholes in jail, busting his ass, not looking back. So why was he acting like such a fucking baby now?
Ken studied Andy for several seconds before speaking and Andy’s face heated under the inspection “I’ve looked over your application. I’m glad you’ve had some experience, but frankly, a man can learn how to work a ranch fairly quickly. You’ve got to be willing to follow my rules if you want to be here.”
Andy nodded. Arrogant son of a bitch. At least, he wasn’t questioning Andy’s history. Gomez assured him his background was solid, but Ken was a billionaire whose fact-checking resources no doubt exceeded the FBI’s.
“What are those rules?” Andy asked, not quite succeeding in keeping his annoyance out of his voice.
Carver grinned at him. The asshole knew he was pissing Andy off, and he liked it. “Forget everything you’ve heard about me. This ranch is my life now, and I take it very seriously. I have every intention of being involved in running it.”
“Yes, sir. I can’t see how that would be a problem for me.”
Carver ignored him and continued. “If you have a problem with who I am, a gay man with an asshole for a father and too much money, then walk out that door right now. I do not tolerate prejudice on this ranch. Everyone pulls their weight and respects all the other employees.”
Andy fought not to show his surprise, but the way Ken’s sexy mouth quirked up and his hazel eyes mocked him told Andy he’d failed.
“I can handle that, sir.”
“Good. And call me Ken.”
“Okay.” But it wasn’t. Andy didn’t need to get any more familiar with this man.
Isn’t that your assignment?
Yes, but while it was still based on nothing but instinct, his belief that Kenneth Carver wasn’t guilty had only increased since meeting him.
All the man has to do is smile at you, and you’ll believe anything he says. I thought you were better than that.
Fuck off.
Ken smiled seductively. He had to be flirting, but how had he guessed that Andy would be receptive? Did he assume anyone, gay or straight, would be taken in by him?

Excerpt:
While they waited for the healer to come and give them a status update, Elena stayed by the bed. She ran her hands over her son's form. She hadn’t seen his jaguar in many years. She noted that even in this form he had some scars. If a shifter was unable to see a healer and stayed in human form until a wound healed, he would scar. Elena was shocked at some of the scars on her son’s body and she could only see one side of him.
“Chuy, I do not think our son has been working on trucks during his time in the army,” she said in a quiet voice.
“You are right, he didn’t want to worry us. But I know my boys. And you know Raoul, he always wanted to be a soldier,” he said, there was pride and worry in his voice.
Before she had a chance to answer there was a knock on the door right before it opened.
“Hey, I don’t know if you know who I am…”
“Are you, Craig?” asked Oscar from where he stood near the door.
“Uh, yeah, but that’s not why I stopped by. Um, I’m not sure how to say this exactly but I have this guy here…um, well, the thing is he says that Raoul is his mate,” he finished with a red face.
That announcement got everyone’s attention.
“Why is he so sure?” asked Marianna.
“Well, I had to help Raoul shift, so I had to touch him. Then this guy was the next person I helped and when he shifted, he said he could scent his mate on me.”
“And how does he know that you aren’t his mate?” Marianna asked the cute young man next.
“I’m straight! I mean, I don’t have a problem with gay people or anything but um…”
Before he could say anything else, his father, Thorston, appeared behind him and he pushed the door open the rest of the way and walked in.
“Is there a problem?” he asked as he shut the door behind him.
“Your son was just explaining that another patient here is claiming to be my son’s mate,” explained Chuy.
“I see,” he said before turning to his son, “Craig, do you know where this patient is?”
“Mom took him up front to see if the Vasquez family had arrived. He wanted to meet them and find out if he could see Raoul.”
Before anyone else could say anything there was another knock at the door and Ingrid stuck her head in. “Oh good, you’re all here. Come in Leo and I’ll introduce you,” she said, pulling the door open and walking through with Leo not far behind.
“It’s getting awfully crowded in here. Why don’t we leave Mama and Poppi to talk to him and we’ll go get everyone some breakfast. Raoul is sure to wake up hungry,” said Arturo. They were all curious about the new man. But they didn’t want to scare Raoul’s mate away by overwhelming him right away. He’d have plenty of time to meet all of the family.
They all agreed and started filing out of the room. “You just want to go off and canoodle with your mate,” Marianna said to Arturo as they walked down the hall.
“Technically, we’re still considered newlyweds so it’s acceptable behavior,” said Brody in response as he reached over to give his mate’s ass a squeeze.
As the door shut on their children Elena turned to the doctor. “Before we meet this young man, would you give us an update on Raoul’s condition? Why did he need help shifting,” she asked anxiously.
Leo also paid close attention to what the doctor had to say. He wanted to know what was wrong with his mate. Even in his human form he could already separate all of the scents in the room. His shifter senses were already increasing. It was almost too much he would have to learn to deal with it. As the doctor spoke, he couldn’t stop himself from walking over to the bed. He stepped up to the opposite side from where his mate’s mother and father were standing.
“Your son’s injury was quite severe and almost beyond my capabilities to heal. It’s actually still healing. He has not yet regained the use of his legs and won’t until the swelling along his spine subsides. I do expect him to make a full recovery, but he will need a few more healing sessions. I told him to shift every three to four hours for the next day. Craig here will help him if he needs it. By the end of next week he’ll be recovered enough that I can release him.”

The Actor and the Earl #mmromance #historical #pridepromotions #giveaway

Here's an awesome title that I happen to have in my TBR at this precise moment. I'm going to have to get it read so I can catch up on the series!

The Actor and the Earl

Author: Rebecca Cohen
Cover Artist: Anne Cain

Publisher: Dreamspinner Press

Blurb(s): Elizabethan actor Sebastian Hewel takes his bow at the proscenium only to embark on the role of a lifetime. When his twin sister, Bronwyn, reneges on the arrangement to marry Anthony Redbourn, Earl of Crofton, Sebastian reluctantly takes her place. At nineteen, Sebastian knows his days as a leading lady are numbered, but with this last performance, he hopes to restore his family’s name and pay off his late father’s debts. Never mind the danger of losing his head should he be discovered.
He didn’t expect Anthony to be so charming and alluring—not to mention shrewd. While he applauds Sebastian’s plan, Anthony offers a mutually beneficial arrangement instead. Sebastian will need every drop of talent he has to survive with both his head and his heart intact, because this is the best part he’s ever had.

EXCERPT

“So what of your sister, Mr. Hewel? Or were you always meant to play my bride?”
“Hardly. She has run off with a man she thinks herself in love with.”
Crofton laughed. “Clever girl.”
“So it seems.”
Sebastian watched as Crofton examined him closely, taking in his appearance from head to toe. “What now? You know what we planned to do.”
“I think the plan has merits,” Crofton replied with a sly grin.
“Her Majesty has granted me permission to wed Bronwyn Hewel. How would it look if Bronwyn were to refuse? But I think that we can come to an arrangement that will prevent me from having to sully the once-great Hewel name.”
Sebastian didn’t like the sound of that—the words too close to blackmail for his comfort. “Meaning what, exactly?”
“If you are willing to keep up this pretense, continue to play Bronwyn, then I in turn would take up the mantle of devoted husband.”
“What?”
“Your greatest performance, Mr. Hewel. Fool the court and polite society in an extravagant wedding, then retire to my country house to be my beloved wife for perhaps a year or two, after which time my young, but sickly, wife will succumb to a fever, and you will return to your life as Sebastian Hewel.”
For a moment Sebastian was unable to reply, Crofton’s shocking proposal robbing him of words. “But why would you want this?”
Crofton’s smile was predatory. “I have my reasons.”
“But—”
“No buts, Mr. Hewel. Do you have your answer? A life of luxury and your honor, or your family’s disgrace?”
Sebastian’s heart raced, but as he stared into Crofton’s expectant face, he really had little choice. “I accept.”
